The Chairperson, Lata Gullapalli was chosen and invited by HH Swami Vijayendra Saraswati to collaborate with the Kanchi Peetham and the Gandhi Ashram to run Sampradaya Courses in the schools across India. It is a multi stage and multi level project which will bring the Sampradaya learning into every child’s daily learning.
She expressed deep gratitude at the opportunity to work alongside Vijayendra Saraswati, of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, and his team, in collaboration with the Gandhi Ashram. The association represents a meaningful confluence of spiritual leadership, social service, and purpose-driven action.
Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham, established in 482 BCE by Adi Shankara, is one of the most revered centres of Vedic learning in India. Located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, the Peetham stands close to the Kamakshi Amman Temple, a prominent Shakti Peetham, and also houses a shrine marking the final resting place of Adi Shankara.
Under the guidance of the Sankaracharya, the Peetham functions as a spiritual anchor, an educational hub, a preserver of culture, and a provider of social service. Deeply rooted in ancient Hindu traditions, it continues to evolve in response to contemporary societal needs.
The Peetham’s work focuses on preserving and propagating Advaita Vedanta, Vedic studies, and Sanatana Dharma through spiritual leadership, educational initiatives, and the running of schools and institutions. Its contributions extend to the conservation of manuscripts and traditional arts, as well as extensive social service initiatives encompassing healthcare, disaster relief, old-age homes, and programmes promoting universal welfare.
